If your seeing this post know that you are one of the first to see an idea being born. One of the first to see a train pulling away from a station headed off with hope to a glorious destination. I am a real homemaker and this is a place for other Real Home Makers to come and find each other and the strength we have to give to each other.
I had a moment in my church yesterday. A woman stood in front of our congregation and boldly declared with tears in her eyes that she was a homemaker. She told of her children and grandchildren with such love and power. It hit me, how often do I sit in a Dr. office or fill out a school registration forms and avoid the word "homemaker". Nope. Thats not me. I refuse. In todays society if that " all I am" then I must be nothing. I desperatly search for a more meaingful or interesting title to fill the blank spot.
then, I asked myself -where do I find joy? Where do I find peace and expirience real success and failures in life? Like this bold woman who stood before me in church Sunday, I find it in my children. In their smiles, in their hugs, in their curiosity and in their struggles when we work through them together.
How will I leave a lasting mark on the world if I am over here sitting in urgent cares, scrubbing dishes and having long talks about appropriate behavior? Hello, in my children! When I leave this earth I will probably not have a Brigette Heller was amazing and we all wish we could be like her Foundation, But I will leave one amazing daughter and two amazing sons behind who will live full lives that will continue to influence the world for good and bad depending on how I raise them. The biggest impression I ever leave on this Earth will be with in how my children act, inspire and change the world when I am gone.
This is a safe blog, it doesn't matter your religion, family dynamic, hair color or number of children. I don't have a care for how many degree's your may or may not have and the salary you do or don't earn. Its all about the kids and finding strength in motherhood and nobility in woman hood.
So if you want to laugh, cry, empathize and remember that family is always frist and we are our at our best when we give our best to those we love- then hope on this train, It may get crazy at times- but thats just how us Home Makers like it!
